Kelly's Sports Bar and Grill

30 St James St, Walthamstow, London E17 7PF, UK – 020 8521 2197

Nice friendly place. Great banter when west ham on the box

Great bar. Excellent sports coverage. Amazing staff. Beer is good and at a good price. Great atmosphere. Excellent live music and karaoke at weekends. Perfect regular.

The William Morris Bar & Kitchen

807-811 Forest Rd, Walthamstow, London E17 4JD, UK – 020 8527 1712

It was alright, the food was good but nothing too amazing. The music was way too loud and stopped us from talking or interacting resulting in a boring and tense atmosphere.

Never been here before so decided to go and experience this place, just walked in and according to opening hours it should be open. But lights are off, and no one present inside, so looks like someone left the door open last night. 5 stars for making my day...but 4 in reality as I still want my ale...

The A&J Restaurant and Bar

347 Lea Bridge Rd, Walthamstow, London E10 7LA, UK – 07440 560493

Few hick ups with my initial order, but after a really pleasant conversation with the owner, he hooked me up with some good food despite it being late in the night- he was cheerful and polite. I'll order from them for the customer service etiquette alone. Respect!

YumYum Thai Restaurant

202 Hoe St, Walthamstow, London E17 4BS, UK – 020 3327 9790

Nice restaurant. Food is delicouse. Gets busy so staff and service can vary. But overall it's great. Nice location. Great food selection and cocktails.

Food was really nice! Definitely will be going back. Portion size is normal, and at £6-9 is not over priced. Those who say otherwise, go back to all you can eats.

Exceline African Foods

527-529 High Rd Leytonstone, London E11 4PB, UK – 020 7998 1700

This African Restaurant is located on High Road Leytonstone and overlooking a birthplace of famous film director Alfred Hichkock: 517 High Road, E11. Building has been painted with birds in his memory ie film Birds

I have been to Exceline many times over the last few years and I absolutely love the food. I am Ugandan and travel to Uganda at least once or twice a year. When I am in Uganda I dream of Exceline food! The service is great and the owners of the restaurant come out and interact with the customers. I have introduced many people to the resturant and many of them keep going back. I have also had Exceline cater many of my events one of my friends keeps asking me whether I have shares in the place. I don't have shares in Exceline, I appreciate good food, good service and affordable prices!

Bodrum Restaurant

303 Lea Bridge Rd, Walthamstow, London E10 7NE, UK – 020 8556 9171

Great place to eat. Family friendly, delicious food very reasonably priced. Love going there with the family.

Amazing food, big portions and great staff. Their kebabs are really nice.

Chinese Restaurants serving the Walthamstow area

Good Friend Chinese Restaurant

23 Winchester Rd, Highams Park, London E4 9LH, UK – 020 8527 0777

Food was excellent, generous and well priced. Service was quick and very pleasant. Will definitely return. Would always trust a Chinese restaurant where Chinese people eat. If I was to suggest anything I'd say to revise their wine list. Will come again.

You aren't coming here for a spanky interior, it isn't, but this family run Chinese is putting some fantastic food out. Seafoodies look out for goodies in particular - the soft shelled crab was deep fried but bone dry, the razor clams perfectly cooked and so delicious with some glass noodles and a nice light soy and ginger based sauce. In spite of the family coming from the HK area, lamb is on the menu and I can see why so many orders for crispy lamb pancakes were coming in on the phone to takeaway. Yummy!

Kams Chinese Restaurant

554 High Rd Leytonstone, London E11 3DH, UK – 020 8539 2573

Full House Chinese Restaurant London

728 Lea Bridge Rd, London E10 6AW, UK – 020 8539 7988

Fantastic buffet! Clean, spacious, bright. Very wide selection of dishes, and the food is very good quality. Fresh too, staff kept coming out to replenish trays. Plenty of soups, hot starters and sides, seafood, mains, a wide selection of sushi, and desserts. Including a chocolate fountain! Toilets are sparkling. And a very good price - £15 for plenty of quality dishes. Fantastic place!

I spent my last birthday here. I love their big round table so we can share food. & I absolutely Love, love, love their CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN..

Indian Restaurants and takeaways in or near Walthamstow

The Indian Dining Club

15 Winchester Rd, London E4 9LH, UK – 020 8523 2164

Had our first takeaway from here last night, and it was absolutely delicious. The only reason I couldn't rate a 5* is because we ordered 2 poppadoms and only recorded one and a broken half (in photo) that we just couldn't work out. Honestly, most Indians give you way more poppadoms than you order, but getting half of one you've ordered? However, it was just one slip up in an otherwise scrummy meal!

This is the best Indian food for your money but most importantly their customer service is BANG ON! Both for dine in and takeaway.

Dil Tandoori

21 Kirkdale Rd, Leytonstone, London E11 1HP, UK – 020 8539 3239

Tasted like home-cooked food and not too spicy. Excellent quality chicken jalfrezi and okra/bhindi bhaji. Good going!

Top quality food all staff are polite and friendly never been disappointed with an order.

Star of India

875 High Rd Leytonstone, London E11 1HR, UK – 020 8989 4028

First time to Start of India restaurant to a private event. The owner and host made his guests most welcome . The staff could not be more helpful A1 service. The entertainment top live jazz band. But best or all was excellent range of food with taste to match I notice that the Star of India had been awarded best restaurant in there area for 2017 marks 10 out of 10 a must visit if in the area.

I went there yesterday night with other four people, the food was amazing but they made some mistakes: the service was poor, apart from the waiters' attitude, I asked for a simple pot of mango chutney that never arrived, the second coke I asked for before having my main arrived with the dessert, I had to wait hours for a napkin, and they brought a wrong main to one of my friends and he had to wait 10 minutes before eating when our dishes had already arrived. Finally, the old £10 notes are going to end being legal tender in Spring 2018, but those ignorants made a mess about them saying they were alreasy expired together with the £1 coins, which will stop being legal tender tomorrow, so not yesterday.

Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Bombetta London

1-5 1EQ, 5 Station Approach, High Street Wanstead, 51-53 High St, London E11, UK – 020 3871 0890

It's really well-decorated and the food was decent, but not really worth it for the price. One of the waitresses was nice, but the other was really rude and I hate saying this because I myself have been a waitress and understand that it can be hard and people do complain about stuff to let off steam or to get free things. She ignored my table a lot of the time and wouldn't respond when we asked her questions (such as where the food was - it took a good hour and came out at different times) despite being the one to come to us first. If it's busy just tell us from the get-go instead of avoiding us and giving us rude looks. When we had finished she didn't ask us if we wanted anything or if we wanted the bill, and I could see that she wasn't busy whilst the other waitress ran around trying to serve everyone. It's such a shame because it could be really lovely - the location and setup is cute and the food could be great (its presentation was a bit odd/raw-looking), and I know there are tonnes of people looking for jobs in the area. It's just a shame that people who seem to enjoy making others feel uncomfortable are the ones that have them.

Lovely food and very friendly staff. Difficult to get a table at the weekend but a restaurant open on a Monday is a rarity in these parts so a win-win coming when it is quiet.

Uffizzi

755 Lea Bridge Rd, London E17 9DZ, UK – 020 8509 2259

Love love love Uffizzi. I always order the butter king prawns and either a carbona or the spaghetti dish. Pasta portions are HUGE and my husband LOVES their crepes. Their pizza's are delicious. Desserts are always good too. The service is consistent as is their food. The prawns are always done just perfect. I'm Chinese and always appreciate it when seafood is good well and Uffiizzi definitely cook their prawns well and they're ALWAYS fresh. My throat swells with any seafood which is older than 3 days, I've never had any issues with Uffizzi. In other restaurants I have to ask if the seafood is older than 3 days and when it is I've been told to order something else. I don't ask Uffizzi because it's always been fresh.

Still serving very nice pizzas. Place is a bit old fashioned overall both in terms of decor and the rest if the menu

Pizza Hut Restaurant

2, Ferry Island Retail Park, Station Rd, London N17 9FR, UK – 020 8808 2626

Not too busy restaurant. Slow flow of pizzas at buffet. Overall good. Staff pleasant and helpful.

The best pizza hut I've ever been to. The staff were lovely and made the whole experience great.

Great quality food and very good value for money - big portions, quick & friendly service and they offer vegan dishes too. Highly recommend

The food is very nice. The only thing I would change is open earlier and make the pieces of onion smaller. I would not recommend any where else to eat. The food is not oily and the flavours are authentic.

Wine Bars and Cocktail Bars

Lizard Lounge

186-188 George Ln, London E18 1AY, UK – 020 8989 3991

Very good Cocktails, right portions of alcohol, and make you tipsy but not drunk☺️

Great venue and Music. However, music unnecessarily loud when place is just warming up. Need to be a lip reader to have a conversation.

The Duke - E17

112 Wood St, Walthamstow, London E17 3HX, UK – 020 8521 1361

I went there tonight for the ‘all you can eat chicken wing challenge”. The chicken wings were nice, meaty and come in 4 different flavours for around £10. Bargain!! The beers aren’t to expensive either. The staff a very friendly. I strongly recommend

Good pub. Love the little space at the back. Great for parties. Inside the main bar is spacious, a great range of drinks, and terrific burgers. Good way to spend a Sunday

Slug & Lettuce

George Ln, London, South Woodford E18 1AY, UK – 020 8989 8542

Pretty standard Slug and Lettuce. Best part of a fiver for a pint. Friendly enough service. Weirdly brightly lit for a pub at 10pm. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food.

Always like the slug. Good selection of drink and food. Staff all very nice and helpfull sarah's friendly smile and welcome is warming. Its much better having a warm smile to greet you than a cold frosty stare to start your visit...
