Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. I just bought a bike for my 11 year old son, who wanted one thing, and I wanted another, but the guy in the shop settled the argument with some expert advice and helpfulness. He also gave us a really good deal. I've been a cyclist for many years and am so glad to have discovered this place. Thank you Station Bikes.

Superb customer service from staff who know their stuff. I had to make a few changes to my cycle as i'd inherited it and found the majority of shops I approached weren't interested in advising unless there was a sale in it for them, which some may say is fair enough. However these guys were just happy to help, which I found utterly refreshing. I consequently decided to purchase a few bits and pieces in an unpressured way. Will definitely be going back when the need arises. A genuine punter from Leyton

Heales Cycles

Freindly local and engaging bike shop. They cater for all shapes, sizes and types of riders be it from brand new and right through to the well seasoned commited weekend rider to the semi amatures and the like. They offer fantastic aftercare and service and unlike high street stores you are not just another sale you do matter to them and your face will be remembered. This is a professional bike shop and you will get a great experience no matter weather its a small or big sale. Weekend rides and local knowledge very good.

This is my LBS so going to be biased but this place really is the best, staff go out of there way to help you and even find ways of making it cheaper. Also help you out by giving advice on what bits the bike could do with (not profiteering, just bike chat about stuff online etc).If I'd have done what most people do and took my road bike to Halfords it would have cost over £150 for bad workmanship and a bodge job, took it here and it cost under half of that, even tightened up my brakes and rejigged my gears for nothing. Perfect example of the kind of shop this is. Seems family run as well, I'd much rather give my money to people who care about bikes than a 16 year old college kid who couldn't give a monkeys down at Halfords or Evans. Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor and get down there, you won't regret it!
