Lloyds Bank

182 High St, Walthamstow, London E17 7JH, UK – 0345 300 0000

"Really helpfull staff "Nice and helpful staff."

This branch has definitely been improving over the 13 years I have lived in Walthamstow Central. Vince Tagliarini, Charell Medley, Andy Mark Russell (Mortgages) Galia Piskova (since left), and Nahid Iqbal (Business Banking, since left) have all given me very good service over the years. The branch was renovated a couple of years ago and now looks fresher. I have several personal accounts, loans and cards with Lloyds Bank. I used to do my business banking exclusively with HSBC, tho have since moved most of it to Lloyds Walthamstow. I gave the same feedback in branch in HSBC Walthamstow FIVE times to various people over the last 4 years regarding their automatic deposit facilities and STILL nothing has been done to date: 1. their ONLY cash deposit machine rejects too many notes, and 2. the card on the ATM showing which way to insert your card is still upside down. In contrast Lloyds Walthamstow has TWO automatic deposit machines and is much less problematic re: rejecting legal bank notes.

Local Chambers of Commerce for E17 with contact details and location maps. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out.

Dental Surgeries

Abbey Dental Walthamstow

25 St James St, Walthamstow, London E17 7PJ, UK – 020 8521 2816

Great service from everybody very helpful and my dentist Maryam B was very Professional and compassionate. Thank you

Went along as I wasn't happy with previous dentist who was insisting I had treatment privately. Advised dentist at Abbey that I wanted tooth extracted as I'd been told there was a crack in it and after a similar problem with another tooth I didn't fancy going through the work if it was only going to be for a few months. Was told there was no crack and given the option of extraction or having a metal inlay, as it was a molar I opted to try and keep the tooth. Once work started it was discovered I did indeed have a crack and an inlay was out of the running. After a few more sessions for root canal treatment I finally had a crown fitted, on the NHS. Other than not spotting the crack that the previous dentist had seen I can't fault the treatment I received. I was particularly impressed that I wasn't pushed down the private route and as much work as could be done was carried out under the NHS and each step was explained prior to work being done. Reception staff are also impressive, responding efficiently and quickly when I managed to lose a piece of tooth whilst eating some popcorn.

Forest Dental Care

73 Hoe St, Walthamstow, London E17 4SA, UK – 020 8520 5533

I have always had amazing service for both myself (private) and my daughter (NHS).

Never thought I would say that the best half hour of my day would be at the dentist but had such a laugh, can't wait to go back. Teeth look lovely too :-)

Elm House Dental Surgery

288 Forest Rd, Walthamstow, London E17 5JN, UK – 020 8520 7117

Nice Dental surgery, need 2 months to get an appointment. If in a rush, definitely a place to avoid. Members of the staff are nice and helpful.

Dr J Bailey

107 Shernhall St, Walthamstow, London E17 9HS, UK – 020 8520 5138

I've only been with this practice for a few months but am so glad I changed to here and would like to extend my thanks to all of the staff. The receptionists are always helpful and have a smile, and the Doctor is always friendly and puts you at ease. Some people seem to have a slight grievance about waiting times but in my opinion this is to be expected in a busy surgery and is far outweighed by the great service you receive there.

Been with that practice for about 6 years now, always nice and friendly practice, feel quite fortunate that I’ve got a good one. The main receptionist tends to always have a smile on her face. Clean waiting room. I found that they don’t push drugs/medications if that you don’t need it, which is nice as you feel like they use common sense for treatments/diagnosing for their patents rather than be influenced by pharmaceutical companies. They have a wooden train set for the kids to play with, not sure about reading material as I bring my own. Highly recommended.

Rydal Group Practice

375 High Rd, Woodford, Woodford Green IG8 9QJ, UK – 020 8504 0532

I am new to the Surgery and I am extremely impressed by the service I have received so far. Everyone on reception has been helpful, efficient and very pleasant. I have used the telephone callback system and have found this to be a real time saver for everyone. On both occasions, the doctor was able to sort out my problems without the need for me to visit the surgery. All in all I am very happy to have joined Rydale Group Practice.

Addison Road Medical Practice

46 Ravenswood Rd, Walthamstow, London E17 9LY, UK – 020 8430 7171

Been with the surgery my whole life, only negatives are sometimes long waits but if doctors are off sick what do you expect. 99% of my experiences here and been very positive. And that is coming from someone to hates to visit in the first place!

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Whipps Cross University Hospital

Whipps Cross Rd, Leytonstone, London E11 1NR, UK – 020 8539 5522

Recently went to A&E for non-urgent foot infection and as expected it was busy and i had to wait an hour for triage then 2 hours for cleaning of wound and assessment. I was then sent for blood tests and an x ray and finally saw a great specialist all within fairly short time frame. He sent me home with the correct drugs which have since been effective. Which was good. Regarding some of the negative reviews here what i would say is that when you go for any medical care you need to have your wits about you and bring your sense of humour. ask questions write down the answers and push hard for what you want! The nurses are not perfect and the level of service is variable. If you can't do this then have somebody with you who can. Only real complaint is that the seats are rock hard and certainly not suitable to be sat in for long periods of time! I have sciatica and that hurt more than my infected foot!

I was treated at the Plane Tree clinic over the course of a year - including initial diagnosis of grade III pre-cervical cancer cells, treatment and follow up and this centre is incredible, the staff are so friendly and professional and I couldn't have asked for better care during what was a really scary time. I can't thank them enough for everything, from the different doctors over the course of my 4 visits through to the nurse who held my hand during my first visit. They went above and beyond. So professional. Thank you all!

The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.

88-90 High Rd, London E18 2NA, UK – 020 8989 4924

I'm Rick Harrison, and this is my pawn shop. I work here with my old man and my son, Big Hoss. Everything in here has a story and a price. One thing I've learned after 21 years - you never know what is gonna come through that door.

Good food and service but car park can get full quickly during peak periods.

PEPE's Peri Peri

575 High Rd Leytonstone, London E11, UK – 020 8558 4389

Food was decent, but very salty. The manager / team leader was far from friendly. A bit pricey.

This place is a hit and miss. When they get acts together they do good spicy food and they service is spot on but beware the delivery driver is not an intellect and will get your order wrong or get lost and your food can arrive cold and your evening after a hard days graft can be a total mess up and wonder you even bothered placing an order.

My daughter loves it here, enjoys the food/ garden and day trips. It has a family feeling, staff and owner are very understanding and they take the time to accomodate to each child's wants and needs. They have a great approach to their work, well set routine. This is coming from a mum with serious trust issues that is suing her previous nursery.
