Nice staff. I had an interview with Mr. Anthony. Very polite and friendly person. Explained me everything and gave me all the details concerning opening and managing my personal account. At the end of the interview, I met the manager of that branch Ms. Natalia. She asked me about my experience with HSBC and about my last interview. Very efficient and professional manager!

Whipps Cross University Hospital Maternity Unit

Whipps Cross Rd, London E11 1NR, UK – 020 8539 5522

I have had my 3 children at Whipps and each time the care has been fantastic. Each time staff were excellent, professional, caring and positive. I am just home after quite a traumatic c section and I cannot sing the praises of the medical team in the operating theatre and all the midwives who provided after care they were all brilliant I am safe and recovering and baby is safe and vary happy. We can't thank the team enough. We MUST fight for our NHS and those who work tirelessly within it. Thank you Whipps for bringing my beautiful family safely into this world.

Fantastic service! My fiancee needed a C section as the baby was breach and they were so professional, friendly and responsive. I'm going back in to pick up my fiancee and daughter but I'm bringing them chocolates because they deserve it!

Whipps Cross University Hospital

Whipps Cross Rd, Leytonstone, London E11 1NR, UK – 020 8539 5522

After all the reported & unreported stories I have heard about Whipps Cross Hospital, I took my son to an out patients appointment yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised. Having entered the hospital at the opposite end of where we needed to be, we was greeted several times by friendly staff & volunteers who were only to pleased to help direct us to the correct department, walking from one end to the other of the quarter of a mile corridor, our first impressions were 'this is wasn't what we was expecting, it is so clean & tidy!, on reaching our designated waiting point, we were greeted by friendly helpful staff & again a spotlessly clean & tidy area, I would also like to add the toilets were also spotlessly clean too. The clinic was run in the most professional manner & ran to time! Well done to all at Whipps Cross, you have turned our beloved local piece of amazing architecture back into a superb hospital, offering a first class service, I have experienced filthier private hospitals with longer waiting times and no explanation of why the clinic is running 2 hours behind schedule. You have done yourselves proud Whipps Cross, long may it continue.

The doctors and nurses were excellent aside from one or two grumpy women who changed beds/served food. This hospital has the potential to be amazing but is clearly severely in need of refurbishment, investment and more staff. The staff are doing what they can but if you need something sorting you need to be persistent and ask 3/4 times before anything happens. Again this goes back to them being understaffed. Fingers crossed they get the financial support they need. The parking is extortionate. £2.70 for 2 hours and if your husband is there for 4 days it adds up. Fortunately despite it being expensive we can afford it but what about those that can’t and can’t use public transport?! It’s not fair.

Find Recycling Centres

LondonEnergy Ltd

EcoPark, Advent Way, London N18 3AG, UK – 020 8803 1322

Fantastic facility - with too much to discover, see and learn. It's very nice to see that a company actually exists that avoids sending waste to landfills and recycle it + convert to energy. One thing to watch out for though - speed cameras (speed limit is 15).

Incredible company that does amazing things with waste.

South Access Road Household Waste and Recycling Centre

42a South Access Road, London, Walthamstow E17 8AX, UK – 020 8509 3664

A high class of waste, tempered by friendly assistant personnel. This one time I was there dropping off some hardcore and paving slabs when a guy pulled up in a car that was jam packed with DVDs, there were tears in all our eyes as we watched him unload them into the general waste skip.

This recycling centre is usually very clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Malbay Waste Disposal Ltd & Skip Hire London

5 Staffa Rd, Walthamstow, London E10 7PY, UK – 020 8988 2900

Terrific Skip hire & waste disposal business in London.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Walthamstow

Wildwood

88-90 High Rd, London E18 2NA, UK – 020 8989 4924

Food is average however they supposedly have a kids corner. Some other mummies and I, we like to go there as the kids can play in one room while we eat. It works on most days - we go there once every couple of months for lunch- except for the last time we were there. One customer and a manager told us off because the kids were too loud in the room and kept in running between our table and the room when they needed something. The table was next to the room and no other customers were in between. The customer who complained was on the other side of the room. The kids were 3 years old and didn't see each other for a couple of months (it was also one of them late birthday/get together). They were as loud as any 3 years old playing in a room dedicated to them. After been told off by the customer and the manager having a word with us, we felt we had to leave. Most of us didn't finished or even started our lunch so we asked for takeaway boxes. The kids didn't have any of their paid dessert which was included on their lunch menu. Will we go there again? No as the main attraction was the kids room which they can't use unless they sit quietly watching the TV screen and not play.

Great food and good service to start... Then seemed to get worse towards the end with two deserts ordered, one of which was forgotten, then a 20min wait to get the bill. Would try again to see if this was a one off.

Oceano Restaurant

381 High Rd Leyton, London E10 5NA, UK – 020 8988 3070

Great Portuguese food at very reasonable prices. It can get very busy at dinner time even on regular week days so it’s better to book in advance. The staff are generally friendly but when it’s busy they can forget basic norms of customer service like welcoming customers.

Generous portions (too generous sometimes!) and well priced for the food on offer. I would expect to pay at least £19 for and Octopus so I totally can’t complain about pricing. Wines are half the price I usually pay for in restaurants in Wanstead Woodford so I can imagine this business profit margin is low for value/quality! had the Steak which was so so Tender and tasty and the Octopus which was perfectly cooked. It was so busy and the waiters were rushed off their feet but so friendly and attentive, The owners made time to talk to us and welcome us and the waiter explained the wine list too. Little touches go a long way, No fussy, trendy nonsense- authentic cosy restaurant! Will be back

Thainese restaurant

313A Hoe St, Walthamstow, London E17 9BG, UK – 020 8509 9668

Good menu offering at the place. A regular customer at this restaurant the food tastes good! Can't fault it even though under new management the rest of the staff remain. The clay pot dishes taste exquisite also try the prawn soup!

Visited the restaurant with my family and absolutely loved the food. The menu offered a fanstastic range - spoilt for choice really! All the food was freshly made; so definitely well worth the wait. The kids meal arrived first which was great I thought, as less fuss when we are eating and can really enjoy the meal. We ordered the Thai fish cakes for starters - really liked the sauce dip as well. The Aromatic duck was very well cooked and the Pad Thai was to die for. The chicken sizzler was mouth-watering! Great service from all the staff; very friendly and polite and good ambience. Would highly recommend :)

Leytonstone Community Pre-school

Lister Hall, Lister Rd, Leytonstone, London E11 3DS, UK – 020 8988 1019

Both my kids attended Green Man up to the point where they left to go to the local primary school and loved it. Great place, with friendly staff who clearly like kids - and like interacting with them. I particularly liked the fact that they didn't tie me into going every day and that the lunch-club gave me until 1:15pm. Their previous premises had a nice big garden. The current place doesn't have quite such a nice outdoor play-space, but they are clearly working hard to make it better.

A wonderful preschool. This is the first place I left my little boy other than with relatives and I was instantly sure that he would be happy there. The staff enjoy being with the children and my son loves it. The staff have taken a quite shy little boy and helped him to blossom into a confident, opinionated person. There are lots of different activities for the children to do every day and the parents are all very involved too which makes it feel friendly. You can choose how many days your child attends and so start them off slowly if you want to. I can only recommend it.

Primary and Secondary Schools

George Mitchell School

Farmer Rd, London, Leyton E10 5DN, UK – 020 8539 6198

Good school. Great staff. Sadly let down by government cut backs abd staff shortages and the recent influx of eastern European pupils and refugee status pupils. But sch has been rebuilt and refurbed. So looks amazing and hopefully will give staff and moral a lift. And help improve the prospects for sch and pupils. Have been for a your of the new school. And was very impressed. Bigger classroom. Really big sports hall. All equipment is brand new. Plus all new state of the art computer rooms and pc's in the classrooms. So should help improve the standards and results of the pupils. Let's hope the kids appreciate the investment that's been made on their behalf.

George Mitchell is a very good school. They learn very well and achieve lots of awards.
